Use Compare Papers when you need to inspect evidence from two or more papers side by side.
Status
This workflow is experimental in Public Alpha. The implementation includes comparison evidence models and UI surfaces, but coverage can vary by build and by the available article content.
Verified workflow
1. Open the papers you want to compare from the saved library. 2. Start the comparison action when it is available in the current build. 3. Review the evidence and source attribution before drawing a conclusion. 4. Export only the fields that the comparison view confirms.
The comparison view does not replace reading the source papers. Missing full text, provider policy limits, or incomplete metadata can reduce the result.
Data boundary
The comparison uses the article data available to the desktop app. Network access may be required to retrieve a paper or metadata. Local AI and BYOK routes follow AI Features.
