Export Citations

Export references in common formats for writing and reference-manager workflows.

NeuralScio can export a local library reference as BibTeX and use it in a saved Neural Writer document. The workflow below is limited to the BibTeX path verified with one synthetic citation.

Import a BibTeX library

  1. Open Settings and select References.
  2. In Local Library Import, use Browse to select a .bib file.
  3. Choose Import File. The status reports how many records were imported or skipped.

The verified round trip imported one synthetic record. Importing that same file again skipped the existing record instead of creating a duplicate.

Export a reference

  1. In Settings → References, scroll to Citation Export.
  2. Enter one or more article IDs in Article IDs. Separate multiple IDs with commas. This guide covers one local saved-record ID; discovering IDs from the interface and exporting multiple records were not verified.
  3. Select BibTeX (JabRef), choose Export File, and save the .bib file to a local folder.

The exported file contains one BibTeX entry. In the verified case, the title's ampersand was written as \&, which allowed the entry to compile in Neural Writer.

Use the citation in Neural Writer

  1. Open Neural Writer in the same local profile. The imported reference appears in its bibliography list.
  2. Choose Insert Bibliographic Reference and select the reference.
  3. Save the .tex document locally. The verified document contained \cite{example_2026} and used its local references.bib file.
  4. Close NeuralScio normally, relaunch it with the same profile, and open the saved .tex file. The citation remained available and the document compiled with the local Tectonic engine.

RIS export, multi-record export, and the interface flow for finding article IDs are not covered by this verification.
