Status: Experimental. The current build and account configuration determine sync availability. Cloud sync is an optional, account-linked desktop continuity path; the presence of local source code does not establish public service availability.
Enabling the setting
In builds that expose the control, open the desktop Settings menu, choose Advanced, then enable cloud sync. Sign-in is required. The setting is applied on the next application start or sign-in.
Local data remains the base layer
Saved papers, local PDFs, annotations, reading state, and local configuration remain part of the desktop workflow. Do not treat sync as a backup or assume it transfers every local artifact. Confirm the current product and account behavior before relying on cross-device continuity.
Provider search and cloud AI require network access. Local AI and cached reading have separate configuration and data paths.
